Al Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, has appointed former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli, the team said.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr fired Portuguese coach Luis Castro following the team’s dismal start to the season, in which they had only won one of their three league games.
Pioli, 58, agreed to a three-year contract.
After leading Milan to the 2021–22 Serie A championship, the Italian tactician was crowned the season’s best coach.
In the 2022–2023 season, he led the Rossoneri to the Champions League semifinals as well.
Pioli will be managing for the first time overseas, although he has a wealth of coaching experience in Italy, having led Lazio, Internazionale, and Fiorentina.
